Observation

During the site visit conducted on 01/31/2023, licensor observed program staff to leave another staff member alone in the stage classroom with 20 children (ratio 1:20) in order to open the front door and allow licensor to enter the building. This caused staff to be out of the required 1:15 ratio for a brief period of time. Licensor observed staff to be transitioning children from the Stage Classroom to the large Multi-Purpose Gym with multiple exits. Licensor observed staff member to stand in the doorway between the two rooms while children were in both rooms. She was supervising 15 children by herself during this transition period, while the other program staff took a group of children to the restroom elsewhere in the building. Program staff would not have been able to respond to a specific need of child without leaving one of the two classrooms without adequate supervision.
